TO HIS EXCELLENCE; THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA
23rd December, 2019
Re: COMMENDATION OF APPOINTMENT OF DR CHRIS ZUMANI ZIMBA
Your Excellence, the President of the Republic of Zambia Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu; I wish to engage your attention to the fact of your correctness regarding your appointment of Dr Chris Zumani Zimba to the office of Special Assistant for Political Affairs. But before you proceed to read through the lines of this preposition, I indulge you to read through two portions of scriptures highlighted in the last few pages below. Please Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 18 and Chapter 19. (emphasised)
Your Excellence; there are many reasons am personally capable of putting down in support for the appointment of Dr Zimba that you made on 20th December, 2019. Allow me to draw your attention to some biblical excepts and authorities that seemingly validates your appointment of Dr Zimba and affirms you to be seemingly in the better place and properly positioned on this decision despite of all the circulating innuendos and propagandas of men. Your Excellence, I am of the firm belief that before you made this appointment, your investigative wings were not scant or ignorant of all the facts and works that the now Special Assistant for Political Affairs had done and published on both spaces or rather media platforms such as the press, internet, social media and all other mediums existing. I am also of the firm belief that a careful analysis was considered and undertaken about the same facts and works. Your Excellence, I am also on firm grounds to consider and think that in coming up with this appointment, you considered the need to draw the rich intellectual resources and awareness and the vast knowledge that is endued upon Dr Zimba for the best interest of this Nation, to serve and save it during your leadership in government. I have no doubt in my mind that if Dr Zimba’s drive to propagate and publish the purported political and governance tenets was in good faith against the perceived retrogressive practices that obtain on the ground then (if that was true), you can be rest assured that you have hired a right mind to bring the difference and shade a different outlook or perspective on the political scene and sphere of governance. Am confident also that if the agitation being now peddled against Dr Zimba is birthed from personal vendetta, ambivalent personal interest and hatred, your consciousness of how best you want governance issues and political spectrums will not fade in your heart your Excellence. This should be the affirmation that you are in the right path of ruling this Nation. I am convinced that your excellence, you did not look at the dents that have been dented on the walls of the internet, social media or any other platforms or medium, rather you sought for the plausible and sensible returns of implementing or rather trying Dr Zimba’s virtues of his training towards addressing challenges from which his published postulates seemingly where based on.
Your Excellency, there can be many human reasons for you to agree with Mr Chilufya Tayali’s petition, but I dare to draw you to the biblical and divine biblical reasons for you to disregard Mr Chilufy Tayali’s petition because it could either be centred on personal vendetta or ambivalent personal interest against your move in the undertaking to change office bearers (emphasis-my own) and not in the interest of the nation at large. Mr Chilufya Tayali’s petition may be seen to make sense from a plain human sphere of thinking leaving out the greater benefits and returns to the Nations that would come from embracing a great mind in Dr Zimba.
I am of the belief that Dr Zimba, while writing all his publications had a greater good thoughts regarding this country appertaining to the subjects he addressed, from experiences and observed events which he saw while they were unfolding and obtaining in the country. Notice your excellence that Dr Zimba’s writings and authorship did not begin at the time you assumed office of Presidency your Excellency, rather his authorship dates as far back as 2011. Hence we cannot dispute Dr Zimba’s propositions which are not only projecting international standard of looking at the subjects in question, but are also practicable in several developed nations of the world. In other words, Dr Zimba was propagating to instil and install his perceived light in the subjects of the practices, events and experiences that were notoriously being misconceived, misconstrued and misapplied in the Zambian Political and Governance Land Scape.
Your Excellence, decisions for governance and leadership are not verifiable or rather veritable by how many people support them but rather by the quality of the outcome or result they can produce. Allow me to draw you your Excellence to the biblical case of two kings and kingdoms and two groupings or rather categories of prophets that were sought for counsel.
Your Excellence, the bible in the book of 2Chronicles 18 gives us a practical scenario by which king Jehoshaphat (king of Judah) and King Ahab (king of Israel) went into a marriage alliance by which the two kings with their kingdoms agreed to practice intermarriages amongst their two tribes. The other purpose for which this marriage alliance constituted was for the restoration of peace between the two kingdoms which were hostile against each other for 50years.Because of the alliance that the two leaders had entered into, king Ahab had decided to ask for Jehoshaphat’s hand in war against Ramoth-Gilead. Jehoshaphat had no problem against accepting to go with Ahab to war. However, Jehoshaphat’s heart was closer to God such that he could not do a thing without enquiring from the LORD. Your Excellence, it is in 2Chronicles 18:4 that king Jehoshaphat asked Ahab to enquire of the LORD about their possibility of success if they were to go to war against Ramoth-Gilead. The king of Israel (Ahab) gathered four hundred prophets from whom he inquired about whether to go to war or not. Your Excellence, all the four hundred prophets endorsed the decision that Israel could go to war at that moment and come out victorious. That endorsement needed affirmation from Jehoshaphat’s suggestion for the second time of another prophet or set of prophets. King Jehoshaphat further requested that king Ahab confirms the decision to go war with Ramoth-Gilead be done from a second prophet besides four hundred prophets already consulted. Your excellence, there was one prophet in that land who according to king Ahab (King of Israel), that prophet gave prophesies that worked against that king. Your Excellence, that prophet was Micaiah the son of Imlah. Your Excellence, the prophet was summoned and he came to the king’s presence. When the same inquiry was made by the king of Israel, prophet Micaiah’s word to the king is given in 2Chronicles 18:16 whereby Micaiah told the king that he was going to lose the war because the king would be killed and the people would be left like sheep scattered without a shepherd. Your Excellence, Israel went to war, disregarding prophet Micaiah’s prophecy. The king of Israel was killed in battle. Your Excellence, verse 18-22 of 2Chronicles 18 underlays a principle. First of all, we know that when a man’s ways pleases the LORD, God makes that man’s enemies to be at peace with him Proverbs 16:7. Conversely, when a man’s ways do not please the LORD, God bends his good intentions for that man for destruction. Because Ahab did not please God (because he mislead Isreal into worship of idols) during the time of his kingship, the LORD was bent to deceive Ahab to his error until his kingship was taken away from him. To do that, God sought for a deceiving spirit which were put in the four hundred prophets (fake or untrue prophets) so that they may deceive the king of Israel by their false prophesies. Your Excellence, it is not everyone that seemingly may speak good words at your face that have good intentions to save for the desired outcomes of your administration; some people thrive on the fact that you should continue making mistakes and eventually fail to deliver and govern the nation well. Your Excellence, it empowers your detractors to see you supporting things and people that are only there to weaken your leadership stamina. Read 2Chronicles 19 and see how that the good king Jehoshaphat was to face the penalty of God’s wrath because of his misdeeds for disobeying the truth given to him by God save for a single work of delineating himself and the tribe of Judah from worship of an idol called Ashera.
Your excellence, the bible provides several examples of men that had divergent views with good intentions. Such men ought to be embraced and put to use. Good examples are Shadreck, Misheck, Abednigo, Daniel and so many others. Your Excellence, the nation looks for your firmness in this stance by upholding the appointment of Dr Chris Zumani Zimba to that office is an endorsement of excellency, grace and love. There can be no true love without forgiveness. We cannot forgive others if we fail to forgive ourselves. If we need to be forgiven, we must be willing to forgive others. He who is able to forgive is above, knowledgeable and mature. That is the symbol of God’s pure heart in man.
I pray that your Excellence, you will not be swerved from upholding your greater leadership insights and decisions which you will be making to straightening up the adulterated paths that try to maim your desired leadership stamina and projected goals for the nation.
I thank you
ZENGANI ZIMBA

2 Chronicles 18 King James Version (KJV)
18 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.
3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.
6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?
7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their's, and speak thou good.
13 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?
16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?
21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
22 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?
24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and I will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
2 Chronicles 19 King James Version (KJV)
19 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord.
3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the Lord God of their fathers.
5 And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
6 And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.
7 Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
8 Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the Lord, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10 And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the Lord, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
11 And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the Lord shall be with the good.
